My father was born in Kent so Kent research is an important part of my genealogy. I'll use this blog to post snippets of interest about Kent or people from Kent, interesting Kent websites or any other Kent miscellany I find.

My Profile

I have been researching my family since 1986 when my Mother lamented the fact she had never known her Grandfather, George Howard Busby. I found some information and a newspaper photo of him, was hooked and has been addicted ever since with research in Australia, England and Ireland.

I am researching the surname Quested anywhere, anytime and have registered the name with the Guild of One-Name Studies.

I have published numerous articles in family history society journals and also write for Inside History an excellent new history and family history magazine.  I recently had a book published “Death Certificates and Archaic Medical Terms” available from Gould Genealogy and History

I have presented to a wide variety of audiences including Genealogical Society of Queensland Day Conferences, Library Technician Conference and many family history society meetings. In my day job, I am Molecular Epidemiologist with 25 years experience in Public Health Microbiology and have a strong interest in social history, medicine, infectious diseases and Public Health through the ages.

I am currently a member of :
Genealogical Society of Queensland
Queensland Family History Society
Oxfordshire Family History Society
Kent Family History Society
Society of Genealogists
Guild of One Name Studies (registered name Quested) and am the Queensland Regional Representative for the Guild
